All to myself

Ahhhh... I've got the house all to myself this evening. Both of the kiddos are with daddy and both uncles to take in the monster truck show. B was treated last year as a special "date" with Aunt S and Uncle A, while Jess had her own special "date." Although she was kinda bummed at not going to the truck show. Who would have thought that a princess, ballerina, girly-girl would want to go to a monster truck show?? They were both over-the-top excited! And I get a nice QUIET night to myself...

100 Day

Today Jess celebrated the 100th day of school. So last night she was busy counting out 100 pieces of cereal (Fruit Loops) and 100 pieces of candy corn. What exactly the project was, I don't know yet. The artwork has not made it home yet. It will be interesting to see! The teacher also asked what they thought they would look like in 100 years. So, trying to be creative, I took one of my skirts- which goes slightly below the knees on me- to make a floor length skirt for jess, an apron, and put her hair in a bun. She was a bit mismatched, but all in the spirit of dressing up.

Snow Removal

We thought that we try a some alternate snow removal methods. First we had Jess make a go of it. She is the oldest. Does that count for anything?

As you can see, she was up to her knees.

Sitting down on the job.

So we brought out the big guns. Maybe we could add the plow attachment?

As you can see, he didn't get far. So much for that idea!

Resorting back to manual labor.

Ok, really, the kids had a great time out there while daddy tried to clear the driveway. They took turns pulling each other around the yard on the sleds. Deciding that they had enough, J and B snuggle up together in a chair to watch cartoons while I helped daddy finish the driveway.

Jess

Appears that I am on a roll...

Quick update on Jess. She went for a six month follow up with her GI doctor. Dr. was very pleased! This girl is 51.5 inches tall and 62 pounds (if i remember the #'s correctly) She is only 6 1/2. She brought her report card home for the first semester. 2 A's and 1 B. So far they only receive letter grades in 3 subject. The rest is based on O,S and N. outstanding, satisfactory and needs improvement. What a smart girl!

Happy New Year

First, Happy 2008 to everyone! Hoping this year brings good tidings your way!

We spent NYE at Steve's parents. As earlier said, they live close and we would rather stay close to home on this night. It was a low key night. But, the kiddos DID stay up to see the ball drop. At about 15 minutes to go, B says "I'm ti-yerd." Being a bad mom, did I put him to bed? Noooo! He made it this long, what difference would 15 minutes make? Grandma even had special little glasses for their sparkling grape juice to toast with. So after passing Happy New Year kisses around to Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle and of course mom and dad, they were able to go to bed. (they were very excited to be sleeping at Grandma's)

still have to get pictures from grandma (dead camera battery for us)

Grandma Anne

Daddy had to work the next 2 1/2 days out of town after Christmas. So we waited to go to Grandma Anne's until Friday. She had music cd's for the kids and they love them. They are played (at minimum) everynight when they go to bed. And any other time they decide to play in their rooms. On Saturday, two of my brothers also came to visit. It was then that Grandma Anne was able to open her gift. It was a group effort from all of us- even the card that went to 4 different states for the 5 of us to sign. Needless to say, I think she likes the Ceiva digit picture frame with picture service. Now on a side note to this frame, the clerks at the local B*st B*y store had no idea what I was talking about even though this item IS on their website. But another clerk (and I apologize for not remembering her name at the moment) was able to get it ordered for me and sent to my house before Christmas even though it was sold out on-line. AND that this really cool gift is available at Babies R Us. I found this out days later while shopping for my niece.

Merry Christmas

I know, it is a tad bit late. What can I say? I can say that we enjoyed the holidays. J and B obviously had a good time! We spend Christmas Eve with Steve's parents. We usually do a little bit of pre-festivity gift opening for the kiddos. Not that grandma and grandpa over do it or anything... After all of the family arrived, we were treated to a wonderul dinner. And on to MORE presents! This time all family was included. Thanks to everyone for all great gifts!

It was WAY past bedtime for the kiddos when we left, but good thing we live close. The children could be nestled all snug in their beds.

A few picture of each opening gifts. Some from Santa and some from mom and dad. B was super fast! I think that this was the year for him to really "get it." He was done opening everything while J had just finished opening Santa's gifts. She seemed to be especially excited by the books and the Littlest Pet Shop set. Little did we know that shortly after breakfast that B would be down for the count. Running a fever and not eating. Realizing that I was out of ibuprofen to alternate, I made a run to the local pharmacy. Who knew that so many people would be "shopping" at the drug store on Christmas evening?? So, I get home, ready to dose him up and he has apparently told daddy that "I'm all better now." And there he was...playing with his new toys. Just like that.

and sorry about the crazy set up on the pictures. obviously i was messing around with the settings.
