Jess was scheduled to go camping Saturday morning. Her troop leader emailed the families to take a poll whether or not to keep their plans. It was supposed to get into the 30's at night and only in the mid 40's for the day. Not really ideal for a bunch of little girls in a tent. I was glad (and Jess was not) to receive the email telling us their trip was cancelled.
We headed over to Great Rachel's house. She was holding an open house to celebrate (Great)Grandma Jones' 75th birthday. Happy Birthday Grandma!!
We had the fixins for carmel apples, so Sunday afternoon we did some melting and decorating. While the finished product was chillin' in the fridge, we headed out to the Halloween store. While the kiddos were more than willing to wear their costumes from last year, we put our foot/feet (??) down. We will buy you a new costume!! Seriously, Jess has worn hers for 2 or 3 Halloweens and Brandon's just didn't quite fit anymore. Let's leave it at that. A trip to the Halloween store is like sending Daddy to the proverbial candy store. And it appears that Brandon will be a chip off the ol' block. But we left with costumes (for the kids) and decorations for the house. I think everyone left happy. Once home, we enjoyed the warmer weather. Decorating and picture taking. I had Brandon hold the camera so I could hang some ghosties in the tree. I turned around to see him taking a picture of a neighbor driving by. Best I could tell Brandon followed him with the camera as he turned the corner and passed in front of our house. He even smiled and waved. Our little photographer in the making.
Dinner was spaghetti with homemade sauce. That had been simmering all day. Hmmmm. Thank Daddy, not me. After bath time we did a mini photo shoot with the kiddos costumes. And forgot about our apples until after teeth had already been brushed. Looks like we might be having dessert tonight...
